Provide specialist and authoritative advice and support on legal and policy issues and undertake a key role in delivering legal outputs and liaising with internal and external stakeholders for the Department.

Period of Appointment:
Appointment to the role is on a fixed term, full-time basis until 21 September 2025.
Duties:
Provide high level advice, leadership and support to the Director Secretariat and Legal Services in relation to legal issues and legislation affecting the Department.
Undertake and manage the requirements under the Right to Information Act and internal reviews of decisions of statutory offices.
Provide high level legal support and advice and solutions to stakeholders on a range of legal issues and decision-making requirements.
Undertake a key liaison role to facilitate the delivery of work between the Department and key stakeholders including the Office of the Solicitor General, Crown Solicitor, the Director of Public Prosecutions and other legal bodies to ensure a consistent, coordinated and effective approach to the provision of legal services to the Department.
Utilise team and departmental resources relating to the provision of legal support for branch and Departmental requirements.
A tertiary qualification, or working towards, in Law and/or equivalent.
