DescriptionNew Forests seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Manager, Investment Analytics. Reporting into the Lead, Investment Analytics, this role will provide financial and forestry analytics support and services and will contribute to broader analytics support across New Forests global business.This role will be based in either Australia or New Zealand.

Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will be responsible for:
INVESTMENTS- Leading and contributing to analytics on investments such as model development & review, contribution to Investment Committee papers, stakeholder collaboration with cross-functional teams, external partners and stakeholders, and overall data management- Providing training and support to Operations & Investments team members on the use of bid model structures, and on any updates to those structures- Developing and updating standardised systems and processes to estimate potential carbon benefits associated with new investmentsPORTFOLIO/OPERATIONS- Providing training and support to Operations team in relation to use of fund models, including review of annual updates to models by the Operations team- Development of standardised analytics processes for the optimisation of timber, carbon, agriculture and infrastructure cash flows on assets under management. Work with Operations team and property managers to implement these processes within strategic models- Providing analytics support to Portfolio Managers and the Operations team in relation to Fund extension modelling, including fee negotiations and scenario analysisCORE ANALYTICS- Developing indicative portfolio models to support fundraising, and provide ongoing analytics support to the Investor Services team- Contribute to the continual improvement of existing analytics frameworks, and the development and implementation of new modelling tools and structures to support New Forests' existing business and business development opportunities- Support the development of consistent frameworks for natural capital accounting in Fund assets and integration of these accounts in Fund reporting- Contributing to the development & review of ANZ valuation standards for forest assets, forest land, and associated assets (e.g. carbon credits, water licences), through participation in relevant review processesQualifications, Experience and StrengthsWe are seeking candidates with the following qualifications, experience, and strengths:
Strong professional experience in forestry or natural resource managementBachelor or Master's Degree in Forest Science or equivalent qualifications and relevant experience including proficiency with Tigermoth (or other forest optimisation) softwareIn-depth understanding of forest valuation methodologies, including demonstrated experience in valuation of forestry assetsStrong analytical ability and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated experience in forestry resource analysisFamiliarity with financial modelling concepts including discounted cash flow analysis, financial statements, and internal rate of returnAbility to coordinate competing workflows, in a team environmentAn interest (or experience) in using data management tools such as Power BI, XP&A Platforms and new analytical platformsAn interest (or experience) in AI and machine learning concepts and technologiesExcellent time management and organisational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to build strong relationships and work within a team environmentCommitment to continuous learning and staying updated on industry trends, methodologies, and technological advancements in forestry analytics and investment managementHow to ApplyWe pride ourselves on having a supportive New Forests culture that is inclusive to all and we would love to learn how you can bring your unique skills and experience to our business.
