Department for Health and Wellbeing – Public Health – Health Protection and RegulationMulticlass – Full Time / Ongoing appointment $110,696 to $120,470 – PO4 $108,109 to $116,864 – ASO7 Overview:This is an exciting opportunity (new role) to establish a compliance team from the ground up with the overall responsibility for implementing, monitoring and community compliance of: Restrictions on smoking (Smoke Free Areas) under Part 4 of the Tobacco and E-Cigarette Products Act 1997 and Regulations.The sale, handling and use of poisons and pesticides under the Controlled Substances Act 1984 and Regulations.
The position is responsible for the: establishment of a clear strategic direction, developing effective operating procedures, and leading a highly effective team that has strong partnerships with co-regulatorsprovision of expert consultancy and advice on highly complex, innovative and sensitive compliance and enforcement matterseffective management of investigations of non-compliance with legislation; and recommending administrative action, prosecution or other action as appropriatemanagement and professional development of team members (x2) in the delivery of investigations, compliance and monitoring programs; and prioritising workloads and controlling and reporting on expenditure.
