This is a full-time continuing position with a salary in the range of $111,154.58 - $124,619.84 (HEW 8), plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%.

About This Opportunity The newly established Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences will be an interdisciplinary powerhouse of innovation and collaboration to lead integrated solutions to the needs of the communities we serve locally and globally. UQ offers one of the widest ranges of health and behavioural sciences programs of any Australian university, and the ambition for this new Faculty will be to leverage its unified suite of esteemed schools, institutes and centres to unlock opportunities within UQ and with external partners.
As the Manager, Infrastructure and Facilities, you will oversee and manage dedicated infrastructure and facilities services within the broader scope of the Associate Director, Infrastructure and Facilities. Your responsibilities will encompass small-scale project management, asset and critical research infrastructure planning and lifecycle management, general facilities and space management, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders within the faculty and key external partners.
You will primarily supervise staff and manage services at the precinct level while also contributing to broader initiatives that support the delivery of high-quality infrastructure and facilities services across all campuses and sites.
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead the development and delivery of high-quality infrastructure and facilities services to the precinct, including the effective supervision and management of direct reports. Coordinate effective and efficient asset planning and lifecycle management, including annual stocktake and other scheduled asset management programs. Develop and oversee a program of planned upgrades to physical spaces and standard equipment, including associated budget planning and management. Lead infrastructure projects under the broad direction of the Associate Director, Infrastructure and Facilities and in partnership with colleagues in the portfolio and UQ Properties and Facilities. Support the development and reporting of key metrics related to the performance of facilities services, including space management, building refurbishment, and undertaking maintenance activities. Establish strong and effective networks across the faculty, central Properties and Facilities, and other key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the provision of high quality and client-centred services. About You Experience in relevant field and qualifications. Proven ability to build capacity, lead teams, and implement a culture of continuous improvement and service innovation. Demonstrated skills in implementing best practices in infrastructure and facilities management. Working knowledge or ability to quickly acquire knowledge of university or research facility operations, including regulatory requirements and security controls. High-level interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to negotiate, provide advice, and liaise with diverse stakeholders. Excellent time management skills to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy. Experience in building management, ideally in higher education, scientific or clinical research facilities. You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment and may be required to complete background checks including criminal history and education checks.
