THE ROLE This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager who will lead a small dynamic fast-paced team within the broader environment of Homes Victoria.
This position will report to the Director, Aboriginal Housing, and will be responsible for leading the Housing Investment Strategy of the Aboriginal Housing Sector with our Victorian Partners.
Are you: A strategic leader with experience in managing a team responsible for end-to-end Housing & Government procurement processes (Capital Grant Funding) including project feasibilities, commercial transactions in housing development particularly with the Aboriginal Housing Sector for the delivery of Social and Affordable Housing.A strong leader and people manager who can lead and support the team to achieve the Aboriginal Housing investment commitments consistent with the Victorian Aboriginal Housing and Homelessness Framework.A collaborative personality who can influence and negotiate with key stakeholders within government and the Aboriginal Housing sector to drive forward housing investment to meet the needs of the First People Communities across Victoria.Extensive experience in managing relationships with Aboriginal Sector partners, navigating key relationships delicately and with sensitivity.A dynamic team-player with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, committed to delivering outcomes under tight timeframes.Committed to improving the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and have a demonstrated history of delivering successful outcomes for Aboriginal communities.ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.Provide senior level direction and support to team members based on your past experience and knowledge in Property Development, Commercial Transaction as well as Government Procurement and the regulation of the Community Housing Sector (governed under the Housing Act 1983).Lead the engagement with Aboriginal Housing Sector with the implementation of their community's housing needs, supporting and providing expert advice to organisations as they navigate the government procurement process as well as the eventual end-to-end housing development process for approved projects.A SPECIAL MEASURE PROVISION APPLIES TO THIS ROLE The Equal Opportunity Act 2010 provides for lawful 'Special Measure' provisions, therefore the following has been applied to this role:
