Your role within Policy, Performance and First Nations will support the department to improve performance and achieve better outcomes for the State through the setting up and delivery of the departments and Government's long-term strategic reform agenda and objectives. The work you will do helps someone every day, and that means the world to us.You will be part of Regulatory Services which is responsible for administering legislation that impacts on providers of community housing, residential services, manufactured homes, and retirement villages.
As Manager you will undertake assessment and analysis of organisational and business specific policies, procedures, forms, registers and other evidence documents related to the registration, accreditation and compliance of organisations and the commission of offences under the associated Acts (Residential Services (Accreditation) Act 2002, Manufactured Homes (Residential Parks) Act 2003, Retirement Villages Act 1999, Housing Act 2003).
What you will be doing: Manage Regulatory Services teams to conduct registration, accreditation, compliance and review assessments, complaints investigations and enforcement actions in accordance with relevant legislation, by setting directions and delivering outcomes aligned with identified objectives.Exercise your critical judgement and sound decision-making in conducting quality assurance reviews of assessment findings and recommendations, to ensure conformance with legislative requirements and that regulatory decisions are rigorously considered and supported by clear rationale.Provide strategic and operational advice on current and emerging risks and issues impacting regulated industries and consumers and developing innovative, practical, and best practice responses to improve regulatory outcomes and reduce regulatory burden.Prepare and present a range of high-quality documentation including detailed written reports, enforcement notices, correspondence, briefing notes, submissions and other documentation as required, reflecting sound assessment and evidence-based findings, and providing timely advice, options, and recommendations to senior executives to support decision-making.Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of industry-wide engagement and compliance strategies and plans, ensuring that projects and initiatives achieve expected outcomes in accordance with legislative requirements.Build, maintain and support collaborative relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders including service provider and resident representative bodies and relevant government agencies, to achieve effective regulatory outcomes and ensure an understanding of current and emergent sector or market issues and developments.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
