The Youth Detention Operational Support team is responsible for supporting best practice youth detention service delivery in Queensland.
Key activities of the team include:
• administering a range of statutory, corporate and operational reporting functions.
• developing operational policy and procedures and providing high level input into legislative reform.
• working on complex projects aimed to improve operational service delivery in youth detention centres.
The role of the Manager is to lead and manage the Youth Detention Operational Support team in the delivery of high-quality support, advice and projects that contribute to the effective operation of Queensland's youth detention centres.
The role also provides expert advice and leadership on a range of statutory and operational reporting matters.
As Manager, Youth Detention Operational Support you will specifically: Provide and coordinate high level expert advice and reporting on a range of complex policy and practice issues relating to youth detention service delivery. Represent the department at inter-departmental committees and undertake effective consultation with key internal and external stakeholders on a range of strategic and operational matters. Manage and coordinate submissions, briefs, correspondence and other initiatives and contribute a strategic perspective to responses.Manage and coordinate major projects and implementation of recommendations rom inquiries and reviews relevant to the team's activitiesCoordinate and/or conduct research into youth detention matters and other ractices which may affect the policy and operations of the department, including the analysis of findings and the recommendations and identify appropriate courses of action. Manage the Youth Detention Operational Support team, including financial and human resource responsibilities. Actively participate and contribute to the governance and strategic objectives of Youth Justice and the department.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
