Youth Justice Youth Detention Operations; Youth Detention Operations and Reform; Service Delivery - Youth Justice; Brisbane City The Manager of Youth Detention Oversight is responsible for managing and coordinating responses and strategic advice to internal and external oversight functions and inquiries and building effective partnerships across the oversight and advocacy sector that supports transparent and accountable youth detention service delivery.The team is collating information in response to formal requests, responding to findings, recommendations and reports and maintaining good governance to support the efficient and effective tracking and implementation of recommendations.As Manager, Oversight, you will specifically:• Coordinate the provision of authoritative, professional and timely advice and analysis in response to requests from oversight and advocacy functions, reviews, reports and recommendations, ensuring compliance with any statutory timeframes.• Lead effective stakeholder engagement on behalf of the Director with a wide range of organisations, agencies and offices.• Coordinate submissions, documentation, proposals and initiatives and contribute a strategic perspective to responses.• Manage projects of a complex, sensitive and contentious nature as assigned by the Director including new youth detention centre initiatives.• Coordinate and/or conduct research into youth detention centre matters and other practices relating to young people at risk of reoffending within the community affecting the policy and operations of the department, including the analysis of findings and the recommendations of appropriate courses of action.• Manage the Youth Detention Oversight team including work planning and financial and human resource responsibilities.• Active participation in and contribution to the governance and strategic objectives of the department.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Further informationWe are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote human rights and diversity .Please ensure you download all attachments and follow the instructions on how to apply.DocumentsBefore applying for this vacancy please ensure you read the documents below.
