Conducts the performance management process, identifies training and development needs, and establishes performance standards for the business unit. Makes staffing decisions and ensures resources are available to accomplish priorities. Acts as a subject area expert and directs activities of staff. Develops and maintains specific subject expertise and advises business management and relevant third parties. Acts as principal point of escalation for the Unit.Key Responsibilities include:Conducts performance management and career development processes, provides inputs and hands-on training to staff.Manages and is accountable for all new client onboardings onto Northern Trust Accounting platform.Works closely with internal and external stakeholders for successful implementation.Identifies opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within Fund Accounting groups.Develops and implements strategies to enhance operational effectiveness within Australia and Operational Centres.Develops periodic goals, organizes the work, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities, and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work.Manages change initiatives - new product implementations, investment restructures, etc. across all Fund Accounting Clients.Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.Develops and implements strategies for accurate and timely flow of data for Financial Reporting group deliverables.Leads and manages business transformation projects by onboarding Fund Accounting Clients onto new Global platforms.Works closely with Controls and resiliency stream to manage end-to-end incident management process.Maintains risk management and compliance programs and activities for their assigned group.Operates independently; has in-depth knowledge of business unit/function.As subject area expert, provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to team and partners at a high technical level.Your Knowledge/Skills:Strong technical knowledge of Fund Accounting operational processes, business controls, and technical system specifics.Excellent internal and client relationship management skills.Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the unit goals and resources needed and to assess and develop the skills of the staff.Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.In-depth Functional/Industry Knowledge is required.Analytical and problem-solving skills are required.Experience:Experience in client onboardings and stakeholder management.Coaching and counseling skills.Experience in major financial services business.Appropriate educational background and professional qualifications.Leads through subordinate senior partners and contributes to the development of function long-term strategy.Effective communicator with the ability to articulate and engage with various internal and client stakeholders to achieve good business and service delivery outcomes for the business.Well-developed management and leadership skills.Working with Us:As a Northern Trust partner, greater achievements await.
