Management - Internal (Human Resources & Recruitment) Full time We are seeking a Manager Human Resources (up to 5-year contract) to manage the delivery of comprehensive and contemporary HR and WHS services and contribute to the creation of a high performing team at the City of Nedlands. About the City of NedlandsThe City of Nedlands is located 7km from the Perth CBD and includes a diverse range of features from the beautiful river foreshore of Dalkeith and Nedlands to the crisp white sands of Swanbourne beach.With a dedicated workforce of professional service providers, we are committed to ensuring the City of Nedlands is a vibrant, safe, and inclusive community with a high standard of local services and facilities.
About the RoleReporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Manager Human Resources will manage a small team to develop and implement best practice HR strategies and initiatives aligned to the strategic direction of the City.
The Manager Human Resources will: Provide expert advice to the City of Nedlands Executive team and staff regarding Human Resource Management and Work Health & Safety ensuring compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements;Develop and maintain best practice approaches to HRM through policy and strategy development and implementation to support long term workforce management, build capacity and enhance productivity;Manage the Human Resources annual budget, the City's position classification and salary review systems and HRIS System;Facilitate the negotiation of Agreements between the CEO and staff;Provide and promote effective leadership, direction, communication, and customer service to the HR & WHS team;Provide Council Support as required.About youTo be successful in this role you will be tertiary qualified in HRM or a related discipline and/or have equivalent demonstrated experience in a similar role.You will have extensive experience in HRM and at least 5 years' experience in managing an HR function.
You will also have:
Highly developed interpersonal skills including high level negotiation and influencing skills and evidence of being able to build and maintain productive working relationships internal and external to the organisation;An understanding of the political processes and legislation impacting on Local Government activities;Extensive skills in team building, leadership, strategic planning and conflict resolution, plus the ability to exercise initiative and think innovatively to achieve change in a service delivery environment.What we offerThe Manager Human Resources offers a full-time salary range (inclusive of cash and superannuation) of $164,488 to $201,114 per annum, dependent on skills and experience.
A laptop and mobile phone will be provided and access to novated vehicle leasing is available.
