What You Will Do
Functional lead for HSE as part of the CSB work health and safety delivery model.Work collaboratively as a head of discipline for work health and safety within the branch, partnering with peer roles in the CSB and product owners, and build and maintain relationships with health and safety professionals, operational staff, and managers across CSB and TMR to achieve positive outcomes for the division and for TMR.Monitor the performance and effectiveness of the HSE function within the branch, including through engagement with health and safety professionals and their line managers, surveillance of HSE activities, and the development of performance reporting information.Provide professional guidance and support to health and safety professionals, including in the field, in line with good practice, contemporary and emerging practices, and the best available evidence.Provide a high standard of professional advice on the performance of operational safety activities and support for CSB, including on relevant legislation, Australian and international standards, certification and accreditation criteria, and contemporary practice and initiatives.Manage the development of operational safety content (e.g., standards, procedures, guidance, tools, reports) for CSB and, in consultation with accountable CSB leaders and product owners, for each of the CSB.Identify, plan, and deliver strategic and tactical initiatives targeting improvements in organisational capability in incident and injury prevention, incident investigations, front-line safety leadership, and effective management of high-risk activities.
Who We Are Looking For
Possession of a "C" class driver's license will be necessary in order to undertake site inspection.While not mandatory, a desirable requirement would be a University degree or other tertiary qualification/equivalent qualification (e.g., Diploma) in work health and safety.Proven experience in health and safety practices, including frontline engagement and surveillance, monitoring of compliance and performance, and the development of frontline organisational capability.Proven experience in delivering and leading health and safety professional development activities to ensure the ongoing improvement of divisional capability through training, communities of practice, and coaching or mentoring programs.Proven experience in incident investigation in the civil construction industry.
