Our values are not just initiatives driven by leaders; they define the way we work.Your new roleAs Manager Grid Strategy  you will lead a team to develop Ausgrid's electrification strategy to further drive the energy transition for our customers as they adopt greater levels of CER and electrify appliances. You will drive transformation within the Network Strategy & Future Grid domain, helping it to achieve its overall strategic direction, transforming Ausgrid's network strategy, connection policy and other associated initiatives. You will monitor how Ausgrid modernises its approach to delivering the future of the grid to unlock value for customers, stakeholders and shareholders. This role is not just about transforming our business; it's about reshaping the future of energy delivery and unlocking value for our community.Your key responsibilities will include the following:LeadershipProvide strategic leadership in developing business strategies and initiatives for Ausgrid's network, aligning with short and long-term objectives.Lead a team of experienced strategists and specialists to deliver priorities in a commercially and politically nuanced manner, ensuring high-quality outcomes communicated effectively to stakeholders.Take a leadership role in developing the organisation's capabilities in options analysis, risk evaluation, and strategy recommendations suitable for executive and board consideration.Cultivate a culture aligned with Ausgrid's values of safety, commercial focus, collaboration, customer-centricity, and efficiency.Strategy Development and Process ImprovementLead the transformation of Ausgrid's network strategy, connection policy, and associated initiatives, modernising the approach to deliver value for customers, stakeholders, and shareholders.Translate corporate objectives into actionable initiatives for strategic asset management, network strategy, and customer energy resource integration.Develop technically and commercially effective network and asset management strategies leveraging best practice.Implement an electrification, grid modernisation, and network strategy improvement plan, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and external influences.Support the development of frameworks to monitor performance and sustainability, facilitating ongoing adjustments.GovernanceDevelop a standardised framework for strategy and initiative development, maximising whole-life value and customer outcomes.Ensure strategic asset management plans guide investment prioritisation and allocation effectively.Review business cases to ensure accurate capture of benefits and implementation costs, adapting business processes for maximum benefit.Manage knowledge management and risk valuation processes to align with changing customer needs and industry best practices.Consult with internal and external stakeholders to develop network strategies and improve technical and commercial performance.Provide centralised subject matter expertise on connection policy, grid modernisation, emerging technology integration, and smart meter functionality.Develop strategies for asset management capability and knowledge management to embed sustainable practices within the business.Foster a culture of innovation that adapts Ausgrid's direction and approach in response to industry developments.Stakeholder ManagementRepresent Ausgrid at industry peak bodies to collaborate on relevant policies and industry approaches, such as integrating and unlocking customer energy resources.Anticipate future needs and integrate information from multiple sources to effectively adjust the organisation's direction.Work cooperatively with key stakeholders to improve the overall electrical industry approach to asset, network, and connection policy management.Spark our interest!Our hiring decisions are not only based on your experience and skills, but your passion, attitude, and alignment to our core values.If you are an agile technology leader with a track record of success, possess the below detailed qualifications and experience, and are ready to drive the development of Ausgrid's electrification and future grid strategy, we encourage you to apply. Join us in shaping the future of energy infrastructure and contributing to our commitment to sustainability and customer-focused service delivery.To be successful, you will be qualified/experienced in the following:Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business, or another closely-related discipline.Demonstrated management experience in technical strategies and achieving customer outcomes.Understanding of asset management principles within the electricity industry, including risk management and quantification.Proficiency in business case development, encompassing information gathering, needs analysis, and program development for effective asset management.Knowledge of safety principles surrounding electricity distribution network assets.Familiarity with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards nationally and internationally, pertinent to the electricity distribution sector.Ability to take a strategic view of network and connection policy, developing and specifying strategies, frameworks, and business systems to achieve business objectives.Proven leadership experience in developing and leading diverse, high-performing teams with a focus on accountability and outcomes.Experience in facilitating consultation with internal and external stakeholders to develop or adapt strategies and policies, ensuring broad representation and timely implementation.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related systems.Strong organisation, prioritisation, decision-making, and time management skills, especially in handling rapidly changing priorities.Attention to detail and personal initiative to drive a significant change agenda.Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion with sensitive or personal matters.Post Graduate Degree in Business or another commercial related discipline.Knowledge of customer and network technologies.Experience with key regulatory stakeholders such as AER, IPART, AEMO, Federal and NSW Government Departments.Experience working with industry experts via national and international industry working groups or other collaborations such as CIGRE, ISSC, ENA and othersGrow with AusgridTo continue building on our rich heritage, we actively invest in our people's development through secondments, onsite training, mentoring circles, e-learning, Australian Graduate School of Management programs (UNSW) and study assistance.It is through our investment in our people that the average tenure across the business is 14 years and our current turnover is sitting at a market competitive rate of just 3.9%.Ausgrid perksRevel in more than just a competitive salary!
