Government - Local (Government & Defence)The Manager Governance and Risk will lead the creation of, and oversight of, fit for purpose governance systems to provide assurance that the agency is properly using and managing its resources to achieve its objectives. The Manager will help articulate those objectives in corporate planning documentation and will know how to use risk management to overcome challenges and recognize opportunities in realizing them.The Manager will be a strong communicator who can engage with the ATSB's Senior Leadership and staff to demonstrate how the governance and risk function can help the agency maintain a clear sense of purpose and improve performance. The Manager will have an inquiring and analytical mind with the ability to maintain focus on multiple matters during busy periods. The Manager will be confident in bringing an innovative approach and will be able to respond flexibly to changing demands.A good working knowledge of the requirements under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 relating to the governance role is important. However, the Manager does not need to be a subject matter expert in every discipline required to fulfill the functions. Our internal auditor and other retained professionals can provide support. The Manager will need to manage those resources to achieve the desired outcomes.
