Full-time permanent role Salary range $122,000- $135,000 per annum Flexible work arrangements Reports directly to the CEO About the role Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, our Manager Governance and Risk plays an influential leadership and strategic role across the organisation by providing advice and expertise to our Mayor, Councillors and Executive Leadership Team. Our Manager Governance and Risk will also initiate, drive, and influence the development, delivery, and evaluation of high-level strategies, policies, projects, and initiatives to implement best practices and innovative solutions for the Council and the Mosman Park community.

Key Responsibilities: Assist the CEO in developing, monitoring, and reviewing the Town's integrated planning and reporting framework documents in accordance with legislative requirements. Manage and mentor a small team to undertake all governance, risk and records functions at the Town. Manage the Corporate Business Plan reporting process and assist with an annual business plan review. Attend Council or governing body meetings to provide advice or present findings in reports. Closely monitor the Local Government Act, Regulations, and other relevant legislation to ensure compliance. Monitor the effectiveness of internal controls to mitigate risk. Qualifications and Skills: Relevant Business/Legal/Local Government Management tertiary qualifications. Extensive experience in managing compliance with governance requirements in a statutory environment, with detailed knowledge of the Local Government Act 1995, regulations and risk practices. Experience with preparing Council meeting agendas and minutes, meeting procedures, risk management and record-keeping obligations, preferably in a Local Government context. Experience in managing staff at a senior level and being able to develop a high-performing team. High-level problem-solving, research and analytical skills with experience in managing priorities. Strong interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Benefits Flexible working arrangements.
