The City is seeking a manager who can provide a high level of leadership and management skills across broad functions with a focus on the City's Fleet Services.
As a manager, you will be responsible for reviewing fleet management and maintenance resourcing, including staff, workshops, stores, and the fleet replacement program.
The City's current fleet and plant portfolio comprises over 700 items, and the Manager will be responsible for the fleet procurement and management portfolio, in accordance with contemporary strategic asset acquisition, management principles, and the City's Procurement and Asset Management Strategy, Policy and Procedures.
The position is responsible for:
Leading a team responsible for the fleet procurement, management, maintenance, and disposal of fleet and plant.
A positive and productive culture where employees are engaged and accountable for their work, achieving key deliverables.
Providing expert strategic advice and recommendations to the Executive and Council regarding all aspects of fleet procurement, management, and maintenance.
Leading improvement and innovation in the delivery of services and implementing new ideas within relevant City Frameworks.
Developing and reviewing corporate policies, procedures, processes, and efficient delivery of services relevant to the Service Unit.
Efficiently leading organisational change within the Service Unit to meet the City's long-term strategic plan objectives.
Holding accountability for the Service Unit's overall achievement of outcomes, ensuring that quality of deliverables is of a high standard.
Accountable for managing allocated budgets to demonstrate cost-effectiveness and efficiency in the use of rate payers' money and in the pursuit of organisational goals.
About you
You will have skills and experience in a senior leadership role, looking at long-term goals, being politically astute and resilient, with high levels of stakeholder engagement.
You will thrive on dealing with complex issues and enjoy making things happen in a busy and dynamic working environment.

Qualifications, Requirements and Experience:
University degree in a relevant discipline such as Business, Management, Safety, Logistics, or a related field.
Significant experience in a senior leadership role within a similar position, including leading strategy and change within a complex service unit.
Proven track record implementing a strategic approach to contemporary fleet / asset management practices.
A level of demonstrated business commercial acumen.
C Class Drivers Licence.
Skills and Knowledge:
Advanced communication skills including advocacy, written, verbal, and public speaking.
Highly skilled in resource management including workforce planning, development and management; financial planning and budget management;
Most effective utilisation of limited resources; and developing business strategy.
Advanced problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Highly skilled in managing individual performance.
Proven track record achieving business goals and strategy and creating a shared culture of commitment for the team and key stakeholders.
Demonstrated understanding of occupational health and safety risks in a workplace.
