About the team The Chief Finance Officer Division is made up of four branches.
They are:
Financial ManagementExternal Budgets and CostingsStrategy, Performance, Program Delivery and ProcurementFinancial and Shared Services. The Financial Management Branch provides a range of financial and operational services which enable the department to deliver its strategic objectives.
As a branch, we're driving the implementation of the department's Financial Management Strategy.
The Financial Reporting, Taxation and Treasury team sits within the Financial Management Branch.
Our ideal candidate To be successful in the position, the ideal candidate will be:
Appropriately skilled with technical financial accounting experience, including having an excellent understanding of Commonwealth government financial reporting functions.A leader who collaborates with others to achieve outcomes.A person who builds and maintains relationships at all levels, both internally and externally and who can represent the department in their area of specialty.A strong communicator who can explain complex information to business users, including analysing business requirements and translating these to achieve outcomes.An experienced manager who works with their team to identify and manage priorities and inspire the delivery of outcomes to meet the objectives of the department and its clients.The key duties of the position include: Lead and manage a team of financial reporting, taxation and treasury professionals to deliver the department's: financial reporting outputs, including the financial statements and monthly external reporting;taxation compliance activities, including GST and FBT; andcash management outcomes, including banking management, appropriation drawdowns and Grants Hub. Prioritise the achievement of the department's financial reporting, taxation and treasury key deliverables and milestones.Drive strategic process improvements.Perform a range of communication and representation functions, internally and externally.Provide technical accounting advice on complex matters and recommendations to stakeholders within the department.Work collaboratively with key stakeholders within the department and externally, including the ANAO.Mentor, support and offer development opportunities to team members, and create a thriving positive team environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
