Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) is a key Global Business unit within the Westpac organisation, with offices in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, UK and US. WIB is Australia and New Zealand's leading provider of financial services, to corporates, institutions and government agencies.
This role will be responsible for month-end Commercial Accounting activities including reconciliations, journals, balance sheet reviews, intra-group reporting, as well as eliminations. The successful candidate will have the above experience within a banking environment.
WIB Finance consists of over 180 finance professionals across the globe providing sophisticated finance and accounting services to support our products and sales, as well as WIB's distribution and regulatory requirements. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Financial Control, WIB Finance.
Accountabilities Include:Control Environment – pro-actively improve end to end finance control processes that ensure the accuracy and completeness of the financial records of the WIB and Treasury (TSY) business. Timely identification of issues is a crucial part of the financial control function. Deep knowledge of the WIB & TSY business and systems used to identify key controls. Ability to partner across departmental lines to effect change to the control process.Balance Sheet Reviews – prepare balance sheet reviews and commentary for one of the WIB and TSY businesses.Co-ordination of the WIB and TSY intercompany process - ensuring all breaks are understood, supported and minimized over time.Central co-ordination for the consolidation of certain notes to the accounts.Continuous Improvement – articulation of business and finance requirements with project and process improvement teams, to ensure smooth operational delivery of IT and other projects.What's in it for me?
