Hybrid working arrangements may be available for the right candidate!Reporting to the Director Corporate Services, this role is responsible for overseeing the Finance Department and ensuring the effective financial management, planning, and budgeting for the Council.More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:Leading and managing the Finance Department to ensure efficient service delivery and compliance with legislative requirementsProviding timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and billing servicesManaging the preparation and monitoring of the Council's budgets and financial plansAdvising the General Manager and Director Corporate Services on financial matters to support decision-makingOverseeing internal and external financial reporting, cash holdings, and investment portfolio managementManaging the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Rating functionsDeveloping and implementing strategies and plans that align with the Council's goalsEnsuring internal controls over receipt, expenditure, and financial reporting are maintainedManaging departmental projects, staff performance, and resource planningPromoting a culture of continuous improvement and change management within the departmentSupporting the development of Council's Integrated Planning & Reporting documentsWhat you'll bring to the teamTo qualify, you will need a degree in a related field and demonstrated experience in a senior financial role.
