Compliance & Risk (Banking & Financial Services)Government - Local (Government & Defence) Full time Access to Councils Variable Working Hours Join a team that is committed to creating a positive culture About the roleThis permanent, full-time position sits within Council's City Performance Directorate, working 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday (9am to 5pm) at the Nowra Administration Building. The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position. DutiesReporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the focus of this position is to: Be responsible for leading the Finance Reporting and Controls Team in the delivery of their duties and ensuring the efficient administration of Council's finance systems and functionsBe responsible for ensuring that all regulatory accounting and statutory obligations are met, accounting standards abided by and internal controls are in place.Have the ability to think laterally, have an ability to form organisation-wide relationships, and be able to lead and develop a high performing, cohesive team to ensure we are achieving the Finance unit's objectives. Skills & ExperienceTo be successful in the position, you will be/ possess: Degree in Business, Commerce or equivalent.Five years of experience in a senior finance/accounting position.Post Graduate qualifications in Accounting (CA or CPA)Experience in maintaining financial systems and processes.Experience in the preparation of annual statutory accounts.Current Class C Driver's LicenceProof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa) Please refer to the Job Description for further selection criteria.
