The Manager, Finance is a member of the Corporate Services function, reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Services. The position assists the Head of Corporate Services and Director Operations and Services to provide expert financial management advice to the Commissioner and supports the Leadership Team and other internal stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and ensure compliance with Financial Management Act 1994 and the day-to-day budget monitoring at the Commission.Contribute to the investigation and implementation of critical projects that develop and review policies, professional standards, and operating practices that enhance service delivery, fiscal efficiency, and budget effectiveness.Ensure strategic and timely financial advice is provided to key stakeholders including the Commissioner, Audit and Risk Committee, VEOHRC Board, and the Department of Justice & Community Safety (DJCS) Central Finance Team.Build strong and effective working relationships with the Commission's Leadership Team, staff, and key external stakeholders regarding all budget, financial, and audit issues.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience preparing and reporting on financial information, annual reports, and other relevant statistical information.Knowledge of government Oracle 11i financial management system and preferably a budget management system.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully in a dynamic, fast-paced, and supportive team.QualificationsAn appropriate business or finance-related qualification is required.A professional accounting qualification (CPA or CA) is preferable but not mandatory.How to ApplyPlease click the Apply button on this advertisement.
