As a large open cut mining operation in the NSW Hunter Valley, HVO is a workplace where you can unearth opportunities. We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic person who shares our values - Think Sharp, Dig In and Care - to join our high performing team. We are recruiting for an Environment & Community Manager to lead the E&C team and drive strong outcomes for the business. Reporting to the General Manager, this senior leadership role is responsible for providing advice and assistance on environment and community policies, standards and procedures, ensuring they are implemented and maintained.
About the Role Plan and manage the site management systems for HSEC Standards and ensure that managers, superintendents, Supervisor/OCE's and employees are familiar with the intent of these standards and using them to the fullest extent possible.Manage compliance with regulatory environmental requirements, HVO Standards and Mine Standards.Provide advice regarding community requirements and environmental requirements and associated performance.Identify and manage community and other stakeholders' expectations and relationships.Establish and manage management systems for environment and community impacts of mine operations and philanthropy.Development and maintenance of Environmental standards and the preparation of reports to meet site and corporate requirements.Leadership of a team of environmental professionals.Roster and Location Monday to Friday professional rosterBased on site at HVO (off Lemington Road)About You High organisational, target-based abilities.Demonstrated commitment to a high performing safety culture.Relevant tertiary education in Environmental Science or a similar degree.Previous experience in the industry.High levels of interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.Knowledge of relevant legislation requirements in your field.Employee benefits include: Minimum five weeks annual leaveMarket competitive salaryA safe and enjoyable workplace where everyone is respected, valued and empoweredStructured training and development to support your career progressionEducation assistanceA generous incentive programHealth and wellness reimbursement programPaid parental leaveSalary sacrificing optionsPrivate health insurance subsidiesEmployee Assistance Program (EAP).If you're looking to unearth opportunities, we want to hear from you!
