(HEO8) $110,291 - $123,734 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies. Full time continuing position available immediately. Under broad direction, the Manager Disability Support is responsible for the operational and strategic leadership of Disability Support, including the operational management of Disability Advisors and Senior Disability and Disability Support Officer staff, ensuring the provision of comprehensive, responsive, and effective Disability Support service to all enrolled students at the University.
The Manager of Disability Support will be responsible for overseeing services for students at risk of discrimination and ensuring that the University meets its commitments under the Disability Standards for Education Act 2005 and the Disability Discrimination Act 1992. This role will also drive the strategic development and execution of the University's Disability Inclusion Action Plan.
To be successful you will need: Demonstrated experience in providing successful operational management in a Human Services setting, in the areas of access, inclusion and wellbeing. A sound knowledge of disability legislation including its specific relevance to education providers. Demonstrated experience in service coordination and leading a team. Demonstrated experience in successfully building teams with a positive future focused culture, driven by outstanding service outcomes through service innovation and continuous improvement. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the wide range and complex needs of students with disabilities within a tertiary education setting now and anticipated in the future and a strong knowledge of disability legislation including its specific relevance to education providers. Knowledge and understanding of professional practice expectations related to record keeping and confidentiality. Demonstrated high level interpersonal and administrative skills and capacity to meet competing and demanding deadlines. Knowledge of disability-based community services and resources. This position requires a valid Working with Children Check.
