As the Production manager and key curriculum and teaching resource development leader within the Queensland Virtual Academy (QVA), you will play a key role in leading and managing a production team within the establishment and the expansion of the QVA.
The four services provided by the QVA are:
Live online lessons: virtual learning is delivered to students in difficult-to-staff learning areas or subjects by a QVA partner school teacher to students in another school. On-demand learning materials: the QVA provides access to learning materials that assist teachers to more confidently deliver the curriculum. Schools teaching to other schools: through school-initiated partnerships, schools work together to deliver curriculum and learning opportunities. Targeted and specialist virtual programs: these programs enrich curriculum for targeted students and support schools in personalising student learning. In this role, you will work with a range of teachers and curriculum experts within and external to the QVA, to enable resource development to support innovative approaches to build teacher curriculum and instructional capability in the provision of learning opportunities for students at schools.
About the Role: As a Production manager, you will play a key role in managing the Production Team, key curriculum experts, external video production personnel, and contractors and quality assurance staff across a number of teams to create learning episodes, teaching resources, and experiences in a range of formats to support teaching and learning in various focus curriculum areas. The Production manager will also manage the team in the development of video-based promotional videos in support of the QVA development.
The Production Manager will:
Lead a production team to develop multiple streams of instructional video content related to implementation of the learning areas of the Australian Curriculum. Demonstrate proven skills and knowledge in film content production and delivery of a high-profile and dynamic virtual learning project including the pre-to-post production cycle. Review briefing materials, submissions, papers, reports, and correspondence. Inspire others to drive accountability and outcomes. Undertake other duties consistent with the AO8 position description. Specifically, the ideal applicant will need to demonstrate the capability to strategically lead the resource production process within the QVA including:
Leading change in complex environments, stimulating ideas and innovation to develop and mobilise talent and mentor officers as required. Demonstrated ability to develop written submissions, briefing notes, correspondence, and other materials on current and emerging issues in support of the QVA leadership. High-level written, spoken, and digital communication skills. Experience leading complex projects to achieve required outcomes within set timeframes and on budget.
