Security (Information & Communication Technology) Full time Salary: $139,787 - $161,663 p.a. + superannuation
Flexible location - role can be based in Sydney / Bathurst / Gosford / Tweed Heads Hybrid working options available and all flexible working arrangements considered including part-time, part-year and job-share An exciting ongoing opportunity has arisen for a Manager Cyber Security Operations to join the NSW Telco Authority, a rapidly growing part of Telco Authority within the Department of Customer Service.
The successful candidate will be an open-minded, passionate, honest individual and play a key role as the Manager of Cyber Security Operations. This role will lead initiatives to provide clear direction, enhance skill sets within the SOC, address current gaps and drive overall improvement.

The role sits within the Networks & Cyber Security in the Digital & Technology of NSW Telco Authority.
In this role you will: Transform and Elevate the Cyber Security Operations Center (SOC): Lead initiatives to provide clear direction and enhance skill sets within the SOC, address current gaps, and drive overall improvement. Optimise processes and procedures: Ensure all processes and procedures are streamlined and aligned with NSW Telco Authority Security standards and policies. Develop and Maintain Security Metrics: Create and sustain comprehensive security metrics, covering areas such as vulnerabilities, patch management, end-of-life systems, and control measures, in adherence to NSW Telco Authority Standards. Coordinate and oversee incident response as the Cyber Security Incident Manager in the event of a cyber security incident, in alignment with NSW Telco Authority incident response procedures. Work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to monitor, detect, and report vulnerabilities, incidents, threats, and trends. This collaboration supports informed decision-making and minimizes cyber risk. Collaborate with other departments to identify and mitigate security risks. Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats and trends. To be successful in this role you will demonstrate: Open and Honest person that demonstrates a passion for Cyber Security. At least 5 years' experience in cyber security operations, with 2 years' experience leading security professionals within a complex security operations center environment. Technically minded with an ability to design, develop, and implement new processes and capabilities to make lasting change and impact. Leverages expert knowledge to enhance incident response, process efficiency, and overall security operations effectiveness. Relevant certifications and knowledge in Cyber Security Operations (GIAC GSOM) and/or relevant Cyber Security experience. An ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge on ICT, cyber security, and cyber risk trends. The successful applicant must have, or be able to attain and maintain, a baseline security clearance as a condition of employment. Essential Requirement:
