The Motor Accidents Insurance Board (MAIB) is a Tasmanian Government Business Enterprise which operates Tasmania's personal injury motor accident insurance scheme.
The MAIB support people recovering from, or living with injuries which result from motor accidents by providing benefits, rehabilitation, lifetime support and common law rights.
Your new role As Manager - Corporate, Assurance & Risk, you will report to an Executive Team Member and be primarily responsible for leading and managing the corporate services, governance and risk portfolios for the MAIB.
This will involve a deep and knowledgeable understanding (or ability to quickly acquire) of relevant legislative requirements to ensure compliance for the MAIB.
This also includes managing contracted providers, production of ministerial/governance documents, and leading organisational risk and assurance activities from an operations perspective that are consistent with organisational outcomes.
As part of the corporate function, you will be required to deal with property management, including planned capital expenditure programs across MAIB's facilities.
With the MAIB planning future major capital upgrades to its residential facilities, knowledge and experience in managing/overseeing large building and construction projects may form part of this role and will be considered advantageous, but not necessary.
What you'll need to succeed As an authentic contemporary and hands-on leader, you will be client centric with a genuine care for people.
With extensive experience in senior corporate services, assurance or risk management roles in relevant industries (e.g.
insurance, construction, commerce or law), you will also have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Insurance, Business, Engineering, Commerce or Law) and/or management qualifications and experience.
