Reporting into our 'GM Engineering and Project Delivery', you will be responsible for overseeing all contractual aspects, from pre-contract negotiations to post-contract management, dispute resolution, and variation management. Stakeholder Management, both internal and external will be key for success in this role.There is an existing team of Contract Managers and Contracts Specialists who work to protect the interests of the business, ensuring that all parties are fulfilling their obligations as described in contracts. This pivotal role will be to oversee the day to day of this department and help grow the team with new contract/project awards.The ideal candidate for this hire will have a mix of both pre and post contract awards, values in excess of $100m+ and concurrent projects at a time. Experience of working in fast-paced contractor side engineering environments managing both owners teams and subcontractors.Responsibilities:Motivate and lead a specialist team towards the achievement of the organisation's strategic goals, ensuring that employees are supported, developed, and mentored through established performance management and development frameworks.Leadership of the Contracts function, by the development and execution of strategies, frameworks, policies, practices, and monitoring mechanisms to mitigate risk.Develop and execute comprehensive contracting strategies that support Yurika's objectives, delivery value and maintain harmonious stakeholder relationships. Continuously review and update these strategies to meet changing business needs within a dynamic commercial environment.Lead and support complex negotiations on contractual assessments, requiring extensive contractual knowledge and strategies to ensure value and stability for major projects delivery and their safety performance.Act as a subject matter expert on contractor related investigations.Manage all contract variations through an established governance process, protecting Yurika's interests.Work collaboratively with key stakeholders including Yurika Project Directors, Government Agencies, External Suppliers and Councils.Provide the key interface for project disputes into the Energy Queensland Office of Legal Counsel and external legal advisors.Develop good working relationships with the Yurika client base and take a positive approach to solving contractual issues, while protecting Yurika's commercial position.Collaborate effectively managing information and confidentiality requirements across Energy Queensland Limited in accordance with applicable ring-fencing parameters.Demonstrate a personal commitment to health, safety and environment and support a diverse and inclusive workplace.Compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures and practices.Knowledge, skills and ability:Degree level qualifications in Business, Quantity Surveying (or related discipline) and/or appropriate demonstrated experience.Substantial management experience in demonstrating leadership behaviours in building high performing teams, leading change, and continuous improvement, whilst fostering a collaborative approach with managers in other business units.Extensive experience working within Engineering Contractor / EPC environments. Strong preference to Renewable Energy scopes, however strong resources experience is sufficient.Demonstrated ability in the management of owners / client team and subcontractors. Understanding of confidentiality as it relates to contracts management, with a strong understanding of contract law and legal terminology.Knowledge of the Acts, Standards and Codes of Practice that are relevant to the electricity industry (including the National Electricity Code).For more information about this role click on the Position Description link located at the bottom of the page.Yurika is growing!
