Queensland's hospital system is facing greater demand and pressure than ever before. This is driven by our growing and ageing population, and compounded by pressures on primary, aged and disability care. To help address this, Health Infrastructure Queensland (HIQ), in partnership with Hospital and Health Services (HHS), is leading the biggest hospital expansion program Queensland has ever seen. The program includes building three new hospitals, expanding 11, upgrading rural and regional health facilities and delivering thousands of new hospital beds in the next five years. Working in HIQ, you will forge a new sustainable delivery model and contribute to the delivery of projects that ultimately improve the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders – what could be more rewarding than that?The purpose of this role is to lead and manage an effective team, that ensures the divisions governance and assurance frameworks are legislatively compliant. Your key responsibilities will include:Providing expert level advice on matters across all aspects of governance, in consultation with relevant areas as required.Identify and research unsolved and/or emerging issues and risks to which the business unit will need to respond to, and collaborate with the division to champion best practice governance and assurance solutions.Lead and provide input on reporting governance frameworks for the development, implementation, and continued monitoring of delivery of capital projects and programs.Provide comprehensive, accurate and timely reporting on the delivery of capital projects and programs.Provide leadership, guidance and coaching for direct reports to promote an effective team environment.The position reports to the Director, Assurance Services.The successful personYou will have demonstrated:Experience in managing small governance and compliance teams to achieve excellent outcomes.Experience in non-financial, and preferably financial, compliance and governance management in government or private sector domains.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to prepare and deliver reports and briefs to the executive and inter-Departmental agencies.Adaptive and innovative approaches to lead development of compliance and governance management systems improvements and enhancements.How to ApplyTo apply for this exciting opportunity, please submit your resume including two referees who have a thorough knowledge of your capabilities, work performance and conduct within the previous two years and answer the following questions within your application:Question 1 – What is your motivation to join Health Infrastructure Queensland?Question 2 – Outline which HIQ commitment you align the most closely with and provide an example of when you have lived this commitment.Question 3 – Provide an example of how you showed initiative to solve a problem?Question 4 – Have you ever had any serious disciplinary action taken against you in the Queensland public sector?We are committed to developing and supporting a workforce that is well equipped and highly motivated to provide responsive and quality services to all Queenslanders.
