The Community Resilience team leads pioneering policies and proven programs that aim to inspire the people of NSW to foster social cohesion, stand united against divisive forces, and come together in times of need.
The Manager Community Resilience (Policy, Research and Evaluation) assumes senior responsibilities within the team and supports the advancement of team capabilities through a range of policy, research and evaluation functions.
In an increasingly uncertain world, the role is a unique opportunity to support the challenging and meaningful work of Multicultural NSW in building social cohesion and community resilience.
What you'll do As part of the Community Resilience team, you will:
Develop and implement policy, research and evaluation initiatives supporting the Community Resilience strategic priority and related programs, including the third evaluation of the statewide Community Partnership Action (COMPACT) Program.Support the effective implementation of whole-of-government arrangements under the NSW Community Resilience and Response Plan (COMPLAN).Manage the drafting and delivery of the annual Community Relations Report, an independent report to Parliament on the state of community relations in NSW informed by robust research.Manage research partnerships and oversee the delivery of commissioned research and evaluation projects.Manage complex stakeholder relationships with government agencies, police, academics, NGOs and community leaders on sensitive issues.You will also provide briefing and secretariat services for senior officer-level committees, manage briefings and correspondence including but not limited to supporting documents for the parliamentary process, policy position papers and submissions, and correspondence and briefing notes for the Minister and Chief Executive Officer.
You'll work as part of a team of talented, dedicated public servants who are passionate about making a positive difference through their work.
You'll be working in a team environment, manage direct reports, and support to the Associate Director.
You'll work at the Multicultural NSW office in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available.
What we're looking for Requirement 1 – Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and demonstrated experience in managing relevant policy, research and evaluation projects.Requirement 2 – Thorough understanding and experience of government policy development and parliamentary processes and a clear understanding of Multicultural NSW's legislative framework and strategic priorities.Requirement 3 – Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication, including report and brief writing and formal correspondence, as well as professional presentation skills and interpersonal communication with team members and community members on complex and sensitive issues.Requirement 4 – Demonstrated experience in managing multiple complex tasks with competing deadlines and establishing productive relationships with multiple stakeholders including contractors, government agencies, and members of the public.If you are viewing this ad in Seek and wish to apply via their portal, you will be required to either set up a profile or login via your existing Seek account.
