• Country living & career at its best• Critically important Executive Leadership role• $153,000 - $164,000 inc Super & MV (TEC) The Northern Areas Council is approximately 200 kilometres north of Adelaide covering an area of 3070km2.
The Northern Mount Lofty Ranges and Southern Flinders Ranges reach into the district, making it a place of stunning landscapes that provide a backdrop to historic towns, vibrant communities and important farming enterprises.
Grazing, forestry operations, tourism and wind energy infrastructure are other major industries within the district.
Council's close network of towns offer a range of shopping, recreation, employment, health and education services.
Reporting to the CEO and part of the Executive Leadership Team, this broad, challenging and critically important role interfaces closely with the workforce, Elected Members and externally with the community.
Assisted by a close-knit and capable team, key responsibilities and objectives include:
Providing leadership and direction to the Community & Growth teamPromoting excellent customer service and a positive team culture across the organisationDeveloping strong working relationships with community groups across the regionEnsuring the community groups have a voice at Council and a strong understanding of Council activities and servicesWorking collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders to promote development, investment, tourism and jobs in the region.Essential experience and key personal attributes will be:
Exceptional leadership skillsHighly developed strategic planning, budgeting and financial reporting capabilityThe ability to effectively plan, organise and manage time and prioritiesExperience working with, and providing advice/reports to and supporting Elected Members, Boards and/or senior managersDemonstrated ability to achieve strategic goals and objectivesA proven track record in developing and maintaining productive relationships with external stakeholdersExperience working with communities to achieve compatible goals.Additional benefits include a monthly RDO, phone, laptop and development opportunities.Please apply online via the SEEK advertisement quoting reference NAC170125 on or before 12 midnight 9 February 2025.
