Reporting to the Executive Director Corporate Development, the Manager Communications and Customer Experience will be the driving force behind the Council's Communications plans; collaborating with diverse stakeholders to ensure the Council achieves its goals and engages effectively with the community. This role will embed a customer-first and innovative approach, providing high-quality advice to the Council and communication to the local community. With responsibility for a broad multi-faceted portfolio, this role leads key functions including Media & Communications, Digital and Marketing, Media Production, and Customer Service. This critical leadership role will align staff to a shared vision and purpose, creating an enabling environment and a culture of continuous improvement. This role also plays an integral part in communicating best practices to the broader organisation and will assist in guiding the team through an exciting period of transformation.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will be a strategic and innovative leader with proven senior communications experience in large, complex and challenging environments. You are politically astute, possess exceptional stakeholder management skills, and have the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with Executive peers and Councillors (or similar). With an ability to traverse seamlessly between the operational and strategic, you bring strong problem-solving skills and an ability to work through complexity. You are highly regarded for your inspirational and entrepreneurial ways of working, and thrive in fast-paced and dynamic environments, where you can effectively prioritize and delegate. You have a proven ability to embed high standards of engagement and communications and bring experience driving continuous improvement through effective strategies, systems, and processes.
