Library & Archives NT is the Northern Territory's 'State' Library and Archives service. We collect and preserve the documentary heritage of the Northern Territory, including original government and community archive collections. We hold an extensive oral history collection, published collections in print and digital form, including books, newspapers, periodicals, and thousands of image collections. We enable access to these collections to share the Northern Territory's rich and unique history, through research access, events, exhibitions, education programs and online. We also work closely with libraries across the Territory to ensure that our communities have the best possible access to public library services wherever they are located.
About the Role
The Manager Collection Systems is Library & Archives NT's primary knowledge expert on the LibrariesNT Library Management System, working with colleagues in the Department of Corporate and Digital Development to deliver the best possible library system to a network of fifty public, school and government libraries across the Northern Territory. As well as system configuration work, the role provides direct support and training to staff at these libraries. The position also supports the development of other Library & Archives NT collections systems such as the Territory Stories digital repository.
The position is located in Darwin, a relaxed tropical regional city which is close to stunning national parks and a great base from which to explore the Territory and learn about its history and strong First Nations cultures. About You
We are seeking a person who enjoys problem solving, with both a strong technical background in the library sector, and a passion for supporting colleagues across the Territory to deliver library services that have real impact in their communities.
Ideally, you will have:
• Extensive knowledge of library management systems and digital collections systems and their role in supporting contemporary library operations.
• Excellent stakeholder, customer service and communication skills.
