The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. We're focused on supporting Victorians to be as healthy as they can; whether through alerting them to seasonal risks like thunderstorm asthma, notifying them of contact with communicable diseases, safeguarding their drinking water, developing the best health, wellbeing and care facilities in the world, being at the forefront of mental health and wellbeing treatment or accelerating medical research.
About the role: The Manager, Clinical Governance Leadership & Safety Culture will be responsible for leading a team that designs and delivers clinical governance leadership and safety culture interventions that deliberately foster the mindsets, behaviours and practices that create high quality, safe and person-centred healthcare.
Reporting to the Director, Clinical Governance, Culture & Capability, the Manager will be responsible for:
Developing new and managing existing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Working collaboratively across Culture & Capability, Safer Care Victoria, Department of Health, health entities, and other relevant groups and organisations to meet program deliverables and to support strategic thinking.Managing a team of strategic thinkers with growth mindsets who will help Victorian healthcare leaders at all levels create the conditions for safe, reliable, and high-quality care.Being comfortable with ambiguity whilst able to identify strategies and ways forward to support our clients.The purpose of the Clinical Governance, Culture, & Capability Program is to support the Victorian health sector to develop the organisational conditions for safety and quality, thereby preventing harm and ensuring high-quality, reliable, and person-centred care.
How you'll make a difference: Knowledge and Skills: Executive Leadership Development and Coaching - Experience working with executive leadership to develop capability and adopt positive, constructive leadership behaviour.Clinical Governance - Possesses subject matter expertise in best practice clinical governance policy and practice at all levels of a health care and aged care service provider.Strategic Planning - Thinks at the big picture level, entertains wide-ranging possibilities in developing a vision for the future.Relationship Building - Establishes and maintains relationships with people at all levels.Systems Thinking - Diagnoses trends, obstacles, and opportunities in the internal and external environment.Self-Management - Plans and prioritises work to ensure outcomes are achieved.Personal Qualities: Integrity - Committed to the public interest; operates in a manner that is consistent with the organisation's code of conduct.Developing Others - Actively seeks to improve others' skills and talents.Teamwork - Cooperates and works well with others in the pursuit of team goals.Decisiveness - Takes rational and sound decisions based on a consideration of the facts.Creativity and Innovation - Generates new ideas and translates creative ideas into workplace improvements.Qualifications and Specialist Expertise: Qualifications - A master's qualification in organisational development, business administration, organisational behaviour, or similar is desirable. Possessing a leadership coaching credential is also desirable.
Specialist Expertise - Experience with leadership development and coaching is required.
