Contact: David Ball on About Us: The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer and stronger Victoria.
The People Safety, Culture and Communications (PSCC) group provides a range of services across the employee lifecycle to ensure the department has a workforce that is flexible, highly skilled, safe and representative of the community it serves.
PSCC is responsible for human resources, payroll, recruitment, occupational health and safety, industrial relations, learning and development, diversity and inclusion and employment regulations.
About the Role: The role of a Clinical Education Manager involves leading the Clinical Education team to provide training and skill-building of clinical capability in staff and engaging key stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure that clinical education is continuously improved to meet emerging business needs.
Some of your duties will include:
Managing and delivering clinical training to Youth Justice staff across custodial, community, and other settings, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and practical skill application.Developing strategies to enhance staff capabilities through coaching and facilitated training, empowering them to effectively engage with young people.Working with the Manager, Learning & Capability to implement targeted learning strategies that align with Youth Justice goals, promoting ongoing professional growth and skill development.About You: As an ideal candidate, you will possess:
Lead learning with authority, engaging with a range of staff in child and youth development theories and trauma informed practice and application in Youth Justice settings.Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based practices, encompassing Cognitive Behavioural Techniques and Motivational Interviewing, along with the capacity to provide practical training aimed at skill enhancement and development of a comprehensive skills enrichment program.Experience coaching and providing feedback to embed and develop essential skills and practices among staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning within the youth justice precincts.Expertise collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, to enhance existing training materials and contribute to the development of innovative, tailored content that aligns with the evolving needs of Youth Justice.Qualifications: An undergraduate degree in psychology, social work or related field is required at a minimum.Post-graduate qualifications are highly regarded.Current Working with Children Check (WWWC) card is required and will need to be provided prior to commencement of employment by the applicant.
