Senior Administrative Officer 1 (Remuneration Package Range $146,933 - $163,950) Transport and Civil Services – Civil Delivery Tennant Creek, Northern Territory Fixed full time vacancy available for 6 months
The Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics (DIPL) aims to drive the sustainable, economic and social advancement of the Northern Territory (NT) through land use and transport planning, infrastructure investment and effective logistics supply chains.
Operating within DIPL, the Transport and Civil Services division is the NT Government's (NTG) central transport authority, responsible for the design, development and management of the Territory's transport infrastructure, regulation and vehicle licencing.
As Manager of Civil Delivery & Operations, you provide expert advice and support to clients and key stakeholders in relations to the functional brief of major projects, and the coordination, leadership and advice, to a team of administration and technical staff on the development and delivery of Capital Works, Minor New Works and Repairs and Maintenance civil projects.
Your key responsibilities include; managing the design, planning and delivery of civil works programs and projects in the Barkly Region, leading a small team to project manage assigned civil works, and ensuring the delivery of projects to a high standard. In addition, you will provide oversight and guide the Civil team to undertake asset inspections, prepare project proposals and deliver maintenance and operation period contracts. You will also be required to undertake the role of Senior Project Manager and Superintendent's Representative in the administration of contracts. The position plays a key role in responding to emergency events which impact the road and transport network in the Barkly Region. 
Ideally, you will have strong leadership capabilities to lead a team through your high-level knowledge and experience in the road and civil industry; construction and maintenance techniques and practices, project management and government procurement processes. Your demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of Capital Works, Minor New Works and Repairs and Maintenance and relevant legislation will be invaluable. As will your high-level written and oral communications skills, and your proven relationship building and influencing skills. 
In return, you will receive a competitive remuneration package, inclusive of 11% superannuation, 6 weeks' recreational and 3 weeks' personal leave (pro-rata), up to 17.5% annual leave allowance and additional paid leave to cover the Christmas – New Years' Day shut-down.
