As one of the world's leading grains research organisations, the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) plays an integral role in driving research outcomes and innovations that directly benefit the Australian grain industry.
Managing multi-million-dollar farming businesses has become a complex and time-consuming job, and the communication and extension of information to grain growers and their advisers is a crowded space, with field days, workshops, discussion groups and study tours. GRDC is looking for a motivated manager to improve the co-ordination of extension activities within its investments to support the adoption of new practices and technologies. This role will also play a key role co-ordinating GRDC's capacity projects, which help to ensure grain producers have the skills and ability to manage their businesses in a sustainable fashion.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop systems and processes that support the co-ordinated and effective delivery of GRDC research and development extension activities in a way that leverages existing industry opportunities, maximises engagement and brings together like-minded/cross sectorial groups with the primary goal of delivering critical RD&E outcomes to Australian grain growers.Proactively identify opportunities to undertake linked, or co-invested, extension activities with GRDC stakeholders to optimise adoption of GRDC's research outcomes.Develop and/or contribute to GRDC extension strategies in collaboration with research partners to improve the effective and co-ordinated delivery of extension activities from GRDC RD&E projects.Co-ordinate, evaluate and manage GRDC's event sponsorship and industry scholarships (including Nuffield, Australian Rural Leadership Program (ARLP) and Horizon) to maximise engagement and elevate GRDC brand recognition and awareness.Candidate Profile:Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Communications or Extension.Experience in or an in-depth understanding of capacity building and agricultural extension and event co-ordination.Demonstrated 5+ years' experience in a similar role.Demonstrated project management and organisational skills.Mandatory Requirements:Must be prepared to travel as and when required.Must be willing to undergo all Pre-employment Medical checks.Must have a valid Australian Driver's Licence as deemed necessary.Please include a CV and cover letter in your application.GRDC is committed to supporting an inclusive and diverse workforce and welcomes and encourages applications from People with Disability (PwD), First Nations peoples, LGBTIQA+ people, people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds, mature age and young workers.
