This opportunity offers:


Ongoing employment
35 hour working week and generous leave entitlements (including 1 agreed absence per month)
Attractive annual salary $122,491 - $134,981 p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation
Role based in Hunter Area Command, conveniently located in Cameron Park, close to shops with plenty free onsite car parking
This role may attract an Annualised Conditions Allowance (ACA) of up to 7%

What You'll be doing:

This role leads the resource-to-risk planning and management of the Hunter Area to ensure that all resources are able to effectively respond to incidents and reduce bush fire risks to the community.
Maintaining operational capability and readiness across Hunter Area Command's five Districts, through continuous monitoring, review and improvement. The role has a pivotal position in leading the development and implementation of coordinated training, oversight of fire investigations, legal process and after-action review activities, and supporting our organisation to effectively respond to fire and other emergencies.
The role works in collaboration with the Managers of People and Business, Community Risk, and other managers across the business to ensure successful operational outcomes across the Area.

To thrive in this role, you will have:


An Advanced Diploma in a relevant discipline or equivalent expertise.
Multi-agency operational management experience.
Relevant incident management qualifications.
An appreciation and understanding of the issues that affect a volunteer organisation and the complexities that surround volunteer management.
A current Driver Licence and the willingness and ability to travel regularly.
During periods of heightened operational activity, the incumbent will be required to support operational management activities consistent with their skills and background.
Will be required to participate on an after-hours and/or on call roster.
