Centered around the consumer, the Buying Manager role is responsible for managing pre-season and in-season Planning, Buying and Trading for Own Retail concept stores and Franchise. In this role you are part of a team responsible for forecasting, planning, and implementing strategies in order to achieve sales goals, profit margins, inventory health & brand equity of the PAC region. Applying a hands-on approach, this retail leader will be constantly measuring the business results across Retail and Franchise to make the appropriate strategic and tactical adjustments to drive and optimize the results for the brand.
Key Responsibilities:Work with Senior Manager Planning, Buying & Trading in executing PAC Retail merchandising goals and ensure deployment by engaging with Category Planning team locally as well as the EM Retail Merchandising team.Deliver financial targets including Net sales, Sell through, Standard Margin.Have a clear understanding of the competitive landscape and create strategies that will help us compete and outpace.Liaise with Operations to ensure we gain in-depth consumer insights & implement learnings into pre-season & in-season strategy.In-depth product & market knowledge of the adidas brand, our categories and the competition to maximize sales opportunities for PAC Retail.Contribute to pre-season planning including Open-To-Buy (OTB) plan, pre-season product planning, option planning and ranging.Own the end-to-end Product lifecycle from pre-planning, ranging, deployment of ranges and assortment into stores with continued focus and tracking on sell out deploying liquidation strategies as needed based on WOS and sale periods.Store visits regularly to ensure strong connection to our consumer and gain insights and feedback from store leaders.Evaluate the competencies of his/her direct or indirect subordinates on a regular basis and provides feedback and guidance to drive high performance culture and a winning mindset.In partnership with Human Resources, execute performance and career path development for direct report.Build and foster relationships with key partners within EM retail, eCom, Marketing and Brand Category teams.Key Relationships:Regional: Merchandising EM, DTC EMLocal: DTC, BUs, CTC, Marketing Activation, Finance/Controlling, Demand Planning.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Creative and clear passion for product and sports.Strong communication skills.Strong process and project management skills.Proficiency in MS Office Applications Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point and Auto CAD++.Good understanding of Retail Management processes & systems.Ability to influence and drive consensus and solutions with cross functional teams.Ability to write reports, business correspondence.Ability to speak, read and write in English fluently; additional language skills beneficial.Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as needed.Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:University degree in Buying, Product Design, Fashion Design, Retail Management, Business Management, ideally with Marketing and Sales focus or equivalent professional experience.5 Years+ overall work experience in Merchandising/Retail projects.AT ADIDAS WE HAVE A WINNING CULTURE.
