EDPR is hiring a field-focused Business Development Manager to support projects in eastern Australia.
The Field Agent is responsible for the identification of new projects through pre-feasibility studies and client engagement leading to signed land agreements.
With the support of internal technical and legal teams, this role will negotiate and ensure the correct land rights, licenses, leases, permits, and other documents necessary for the development and operation of renewable energy sites are in place.
The role involves approaching and engaging landholders to secure project land and serving as the liaison between the company and landholders to maintain harmonious client relations.
The position is primarily based in our Sydney or Canberra offices and requires about 30% of time spent travelling in regional Australia.
Remote working arrangements in central NSW or QLD can also be considered.
Responsibilities: Support the identification of project sites for solar, wind, and energy storage projects.Undertake desktop due diligence and preliminary feasibility on potential sites.Develop project budgets and support the financial analysis and modelling of the project.Conduct negotiations with landholders to obtain land rights to design, permit, construct, operate, and maintain wind, solar, and battery storage projects.Establish and manage relationships with stakeholders, including landholders, elected officials, regulators, utilities, and community leaders, to support project development.Work alongside internal EDP Renewables departments (including planning, legal, engineering, and construction, etc.)
to produce proposals and support development activities.Produce correspondence and material for project websites, information booklets, and other promotional material as may be necessary.Perform quality assurance checks and additional due diligence to ensure a high degree of quality and confidence in business opportunities and the accuracy of external-facing materials.Conduct and manage all work in a timely fashion to ensure that critical deadlines are met.Be proactive in finding more efficient ways to run the project development functions.Additional duties as required.Requirements: Three (3) or more years of experience in sales, project development, property development, agricultural/farm supply agency, agronomy, agricultural consultancy, consultancy, commercial leasing or similar client-facing technical sales-driven roles.Proven ability to:
