Advancing careers. Advancing everyday life.
Glencore Coal Assets Australia (GCAA) is presenting an exciting opportunity to join Business Development and be part of the team that drives strategic decision making across the Australian coal business. As one of Australia's largest producers of export coal, with 13 operational mines across New South Wales and Queensland, the nature of the work is highly varied and suitable to those who wish to be challenged in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment. This role provides diverse exposure to the entire coal chain and the ability to influence business decision making at the highest level.
Operating within the Business Development and Technical Services team and reporting to the Group Manager – Strategic Planning and Business Analysis, you will be responsible for managing business analysis across GCAA. This role is a key position in the organisation and, along with a group of dedicated business analysts, you will provide leadership and guidance across the group to facilitate development and evaluation of Life of Mine plans, assessment of early-stage projects and M&A opportunities, internal business development strategies, and portfolio optimisation.
With formal qualifications in engineering and/or commerce/finance and substantial experience in a technical or commercial role in the resources sector, you will have a deep understanding of the key business drivers in the coal industry, and the ability to identify the critical value components and communicate these compellingly to a diverse audience. An in-depth knowledge and understanding of financial valuation techniques, their strengths and weaknesses, and appropriate metrics is essential. You will have demonstrated the ability to develop productive relationships and influence at all levels in an organisation and be able to mentor and develop a team of motivated professionals.
This is a small team with a broad working scope, providing valued and well-regarded insights across a significant portfolio, and you will need to confidently apply your existing skills to new situations. With exposure to a broad range of business functions and areas, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced business analyst, commercial, or skilled technical mining professional looking to take that career step into a leadership role within business development.
Applications close on Friday, 15th of November.
Glencore provides unrivalled career and development prospects, great communities, and the opportunity to work with leaders in your field.
