You'll be given all the skills, knowledge and opportunities to progress and become ready to build a better working world for our people, our clients and the communities that support us.We have some of the most sophisticated audit clients in Canberra and the surrounding regions – ranging from brand name technology companies, some of Australia's most interesting commercial Government enterprises, leaders in the power and utilities and real estate and construction sectors, an iconic Canberra sports team, and a number of the world's largest defence industry companies providing services to the Department of Defence.Your key responsibilitiesYou will manage audit engagements by developing the audit strategy, in consultation with the Partner, and leading the team's execution of the audit plan in compliance with our globally standard audit methodology.You will manage the audit process with high-quality client service and appropriate consideration of audit risk and technical audit and accounting matters.Lead and manage fieldwork on client sites including liaising with EY specialists and key client stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of the audit process.Use your experience to coach and develop our people to succeed in their career and activate their purpose.Engage with senior client management and audit committees to provide advice throughout the year, establishing your personal brand as a trusted advisor to our clients.Constantly developing your understanding of current market trends and sharing your knowledge to develop junior colleagues.Understanding our clients' unique ambitions and needs to have a well-rounded view of business strategy and the audit risks associated, and how EY can help support our clients' ambitions.What we are looking for:Here's our 'wish list' but don't worry if you don't tick all the boxes. We're interested in your strengths, what you want to learn, and how far you want to go.Accounting degree and CPA/CA qualification.At least 5 years' experience as an auditor.Proven experience in leading the delivery of high-quality audits.An inquisitive mind, demonstrating curiosity to understand our team, our clients, and the business ecosystem.Proven track record with developing and maintaining team motivation and client relationships.Excellent communication skills, negotiation skills and a collaborative approach with clients and audit teams.Current Australian security clearance, or the ability to obtain one. This is required to service Government audits.
