Our team is led by an established Managing Director and is an integrated part of our established and highly successful global TAG practice.
We are currently seeking a Manager for our team based in Sydney.Responsibilities Provide transaction-oriented accounting and reporting assistance for acquisitions, divestitures, complex capital restructures, financial instruments, revenue recognition and other technical matters.Provide accounting advisory and financial reporting support to clients including implementation assistance with accounting matters or new accounting standards and drafting accounting opinion papers.Work closely with TAG colleagues, assisting finance teams hands-on with resolving technical accounting and deal related matters, including SPA and completion account assistance.Assist with regulatory filings for initial public offerings (IPO), spin-offs, carve-outs, debt offerings and other acquisition filings for both domestic and cross-border transactions.Support conversion services to clients requiring a change in their financial reporting to IFRS or US GAAP.Accountable for staff management, financial metrics of the engagement, and preparation and presentation of accounting findings and concepts.Support our Managing Directors to develop the Accounting Advisory Services team including recruitment, mentoring and training junior team members.Partake in cross-functional teams to deliver services to clients and present final client deliverables including timely and efficient product delivery.Participate in practice building including, but not limited to recruitment and training, thought leadership, pitches and/or solution development.The PersonExperience within Accounting Advisory at a leading Accountancy firm (Big Four experience).Commercially minded, strong technical skills and a working knowledge of IFRS.Fluent English and excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with an ability to assimilate easily into teams.Accounting qualification, CPA or equivalent.Proactive in identifying client needs and effective in building a strong relationship with clients.Experience in contributing to complex Accounting Advisory engagements combined with good stakeholder management skills.Excellent consulting skills: analytical, written and verbal communication, client presence, facilitation and presentation skills.Entrepreneurial nature, self-motivated, ethical, and dependable.High energy with commitment to quality client service, focusing on ensuring positive resolutions to conflicts.Alvarez & Marsal's employees benefit from significant employee resource groups supporting the LGBQT+ community, A&M Young Professionals, EMEA Women's Network, The Multicultural Network, A&M Parents & Carers Community Group and we offer support to those who identify as neurodivergent.
