About the Role:The Manager, Education Quality Higher Education (HE) oversees the quality of the provision of higher education at Melbourne Polytechnic. This is achieved through the provision of subject matter expertise that supports process and policy design in relation to continuous improvement across all Higher Education courses. This position maintains an overview of the regulatory compliance requirements in relation to Higher Education, monitors changes in the regulatory environment and provides subject matter expertise to Senior Management in relation to areas requiring additional development to achieve compliance.
Melbourne Polytechnic has developed the Higher Education Scholarship Framework as an innovative approach to scholarship. This position will drive the continued implementation of the HE Scholarship Framework, which includes HE Directorate improvement activities identified internally and through external reviews. Manage the scholarship team to ensure a transparent and efficient administrative system, lead the implementation of monitoring and evaluation which includes overseeing Melbourne Polytechnic Scholarship board/committee reporting. Manage the team and promote a culture of education excellence, continuous improvement and innovation. This position will oversee functions and standards of Human and Animal ethics to ensure compliance is undertaken and evidenced.
Melbourne Polytechnic compliance is supported by a partnership between Academic Quality and the directorates, where workplace positive cultural considerations are at the center of how we operate. As such, this role will be supporting multi-directorates to ensure both a whole of institute perspective alongside a Higher Education Directorate perspective with strategic advice and if change is required, implementation of change management practices.
Critically, this role supports course accreditation and re-accreditation process and review (Higher Education Threshold Standards (2021) Institute Quality Assurance 5) and course professional accreditation/registration.
Duties:Provide expert subject matter expertise to the HE Directorate and academic leadership pertaining to maintaining HE standards, policies, and procedures.Prevent non-compliance with the HE Standards Framework by monitoring compliance and providing complex advice and analysis to identify key risk areas.Lead a team to ensure regulatory compliance, quality learning and teaching outcomes are met in the areas of HE Scholarship and Quality and Human and Animal Ethics.Drive the Scholarship reporting cycle across the Higher Education Directorate, which includes ensuring the development of program scholarship objectives, assisting with the scholarship overview associated with course accreditations; program scholarship plans and condition reporting (MP Boards and committee reporting).A current Working with Children Check Card (Employee).A master's or PhD in relevant field, or equivalent in relevant field and proven higher education experience managing Quality and Compliance processes within a large and complex educational organisation. Qualifications equivalent to Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) 9 or above are desirable.Demonstrated experience in Quality Assurance, with proven expertise and current working knowledge of Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021 requirements.Demonstrated experience with institute re-registration, accreditation, and re-accreditation with TEQSA and leading the response to Request for Information (RFIs).Demonstrated support for course professional accreditation/registration.How to Apply:Please submit the following documents for your application to be considered:
