About the role In this key financial role, you will support the City of Boroondara's financial operations, focusing on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
Reporting into the Coordinator Management Accounting position, you will develop comprehensive financial reports and analyses that inform council decisions.
Key responsibilities include producing the annual budget, managing operating and capital expenditures, and supporting long-term financial planning.
Additionally, you will oversee quarterly and annual reporting, ensuring compliance with local government standards and regulations.
About You You are an experienced and accredited Management Accountant, either as a Chartered Accountant or Certified Practising Accountant, with a strong foundation in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
You bring excellent attention to detail and a collaborative approach, helping non-financial staff understand complex accounting matters.
Your analytical skills and system expertise, especially in budgeting and reporting tools, enable you to provide precise, timely, and clear financial guidance.

Key Responsibilities As a Management Accountant, you will collaborate with departments across the organisation, providing strategic financial advice and analysis to guide budgetary and planning decisions.
You will lead the development and management of timelines for budget cycles and performance reporting to support governance requirements.
Your role will include preparing budgets for employee salaries, fleet, and asset management, while ensuring statutory compliance.
In reporting, you will produce monthly and quarterly performance reports, analyse key variances, and prepare amended budgets as required.
You will also oversee system administration for budgeting software, support user training, and manage system upgrades, ensuring data integrity and efficiency.
