We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our growing team.
This full-time role will play a critical part in providing financial insights and supporting strategic decision-making across our multiple entities within the Cougar Mining Group.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will primarily be responsible for the AME and BME who operate across NSW & QLD.
Experience in the manufacturing industries will complement this role but is not essential.

Key Responsibilities: The major functions of management accounting are to record financial transactions, compute the cost of goods sold and other expenses, prepare periodic financial statements, measure the performance of business units over time, allocate resources to business units or activities according to profitability or some similar criteria, aid in planning future operations by projecting cash flows, plan for capital expenditures to replace assets that are being used up, help estimate the cost of completing proposed new projects, and provide data to be incorporated into the budgeting process.
Conduct in-depth analysis of complex financial matters and business performance, delivering detailed reports, insights, and recommendations to the business on the impact of key financial and operational drivers, while identifying opportunities for performance enhancement.
Assess, enhance, and present management reports that offer valuable insights into business performance and drive informed decision-making.
Evaluate and improve inventory data and reporting systems, collaborating with business units to identify opportunities for inventory optimization.
Maintain and refine financial models to meet the organisation's budgeting and forecasting needs.
Collaborate with operational managers and department heads, providing strategic financial support to guide data-driven decisions and optimize business outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills: Tertiary qualifications in accounting or a related field.
CPA / CA accreditation or working towards.
Prior experience in management accounting within the mining or manufacturing industries is highly regarded.
Strong financial acumen with experience in cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
Solid understanding of ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across various levels of the organisation.
Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on process improvement and optimisation.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
High attention to detail, with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
