The Opportunity Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for undertaking various accounting and reporting activities which ensures the effective operation of their BU or Project.
As such the MA role is crucial in supporting operations to deliver accurate and timely financial information and analysis.
Key responsibilities General Ledger and sub-ledger maintenance for allocated business unit(s). Ensure Fixed Asset register is maintained including timely capitalisations and disposals, and appropriate depreciation methods are applied. Working with Operations to deliver monthly reports (Management and Capex) and financial information is accurate, timely and provides insightful analysis. Working with the Commercial Team to ensure project finances are in line with commercial expectations. Prepare monthly management accounts including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and budget variance analysis with general/ operations managers. Development and maintenance of Business Intelligence tools/dashboards and data analytics. Analyse and understand the financial and operational drivers of results. Drive continuous improvement in management accounting, ensuring ongoing increases in efficiency and effectiveness. Preparation of budgets and periodic rolling forecasts as required. Preparation of audit work papers and liaising with auditors to address their queries during half in full year, in addition to other ad hoc audits. Compliance with monthly reporting timetable. Provide assistance and support to the Corporate Finance Team as and when required, including input to statutory accounts, statutory returns and tax related matters. Assist general/operational managers to cost and budget new and existing operational projects, contracts and opportunities. Review external client invoicing. Ensure all accounting transactions are in line with MinRes policies and accounting standards. What is required Tertiary Degree in Accounting Completed CA/CPA Experience in a range of accounting activities – including general accounting, financial analysis, audit and management reporting High level competency in Microsoft Office, inclusive of Excel Experience working in operational finance in mining or contracting services (preferable) Good technical accounting knowledge and ability to practically apply to MinRes Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiating skills About Mineral Resources MinRes is a leading diversified resources company with extensive operations in lithium, iron ore, energy and mining services across Western Australia.
