What does the job look like?
As the Management Accountant, reporting to the Finance Manager, you will provide support in managing the financial and administrative aspects of the contracts and portfolios allocated. You will also be responsible for the production of weekly and monthly financial information including variance analysis, assisting with annual budgets as well as providing support to the department for a variety of projects and tasks. Key areas:
Preparing weekly and monthly management accounts, including commentary and additional information as required.Preparing together and tracking wages information, including commentary and issue identification against targets.Preparing general ledger reconciliations, including investigation and resolution of issues as identified. This includes preparation of relevant monthly management reports on balance sheet accounts, and corporate reporting as required.Analyse and provide guidance and supporting data for the business both operationally and commercially in identifying issues, risk mitigation and opportunities.Participate and coordinate the annual stocktake process for the business unit.Lead continuous improvement of management financial reporting within the business unit, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency. You have a positive outcome focused attitude with the ability to communicate high quality succinct financial information to a diverse range of stakeholders including those with non-finance backgrounds. You can demonstrate:
Proven experience in a similar role within a large Chartered or Corporate environmentStrong understanding of financial and management accounting as well as budgeting and forecastingProficiency in preparing high quality financial reports including management presentations and reporting packagesAdvanced Excel skills, with the ability to work with large volumes of data from different sourcesWorking knowledge of finance information systems and enterprise accounting software (SAP preferred)Qualified CA/CPA or near completion
