Position Overview: We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join our Finance team in Bundall on the Gold Coast. Reporting to our Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will work with the broader Finance team and is responsible for providing timely and accurate data that facilitates decision making, ensures compliance and contributes to the overall objectives of the Finance team. This position will suit a qualified Accountant (e.g., CPA, CA or equivalent) or someone close to completing their studies, with a minimum of 3 years in an accounting role within a construction environment or similar. In addition to a calm approach when problem solving, the ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
Responsibilities: Providing meaningful and accurate financial analysis, commentary and reporting Balance sheet reconciliation Month-end processes, reports and financial tracking of performance against budget Cash flow forecasting EOFY activities, including audit and financial statement preparation Insurance claims and renewals Preparation of BAS and FBT lodgements Ensure compliance with tax and other legislative requirements Internal audits and assisting external audits Qualifications + Experience: An accounting qualification and a working knowledge of Australian accounting standards and management accounting principles Experience meeting strict deadlines and providing external/internal reporting Experience preparing budgets and reports with a high level of accuracy Experience with managing complex cashflow forecasting Previous financial statement preparation Identifying strategic and operational financial issues and opportunities Using complex financial systems such as Great Plains and Microsoft Excel Why work for Hazell Bros: Recognised as an Employer of Choice since 2008.
