The Role
We are looking for a Management Accountant to join us within the Finance Team (Queensland Metals).
The role will be critical to overall cost control processes and will interact with managers in the business to understand costs as well as deliver month end reports with value added analysis.
The role will report to the Superintendent Finance – Processing and has the opportunity to be part of multiple processing functions in the business.
Your key responsibilities include:
Ensure you execute accountabilities for a safe work environment.
Assist with production of reliable and relevant Management Accounting reports for Queensland Metals operational departments including detailed Price, Volume and Efficiency analysis, Unit Cost Run Rates, cost driver trees and scenario comparatives.
Improve the process, analysis and reporting of Operating and Capital expenditure for all Queensland Metals operational departments.
Assist with the coordination and review of Life of Asset / Budget / Plan for Queensland Metals and deliver appropriate reporting for Operational Management.
Be pro-active in anticipating potential impacts and preparing for process changes resulting from system upgrades, new system implementations or reporting requirement changes.
Implement learning plans & develop the knowledge of graduate & vacation student members of the Finance department.
Assess and continually improve financial acumen of non-finance employees by the delivery of appropriate and continued training & support.
Assist with production of half year, hard close and full year audit requirements.
Establish solid, professional working relationships with all key personnel and maintain a positive working environment.
Maintain open and honest communication within Finance team and external stakeholders.
Continually review tasks undertaken and establish critical areas and weaknesses in reaching goals, then initiate solutions to improve them.
Requirements:
Minimum 2-3 years' experience as an accountant, preferrable in Mining, manufacturing or heavy industry Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint Experience with SAP, IBM Cognos TM1 and/or Anaplan will be highly regarded.
CA/CPA qualified or working towards Applications Close:
