The RoleThe Management Accountant will provide support to the Head of Finance. They will be responsible for maintaining financial records and overseeing the financial operations of the company, including accounting, budgeting/forecasting, risk management, financial reporting, and JSOX compliance. They will play a crucial role in supporting the company's strategic decision-making process and ensuring financial stability. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the mining industry, cost accounting, accounting methods, and financial regulations.
ResponsibilitiesReporting: Manage both internal and external reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc deliverables to the Group's parent company in Tokyo. Conduct internal month-end close processes, including cost accruals, provisions calculations, payroll reconciliations, cost analysis, and Trial Balance reviews.Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets, adjust and reforecast as needed, track variance analysis, and report to management and stakeholders.Cashflow Management: Oversee cashflow management to ensure business and group requirements are met, including forecasting.Auditing: Coordinate external and internal audits, ensuring SOX and policy compliance. Support statutory audit preparations, including work papers and financial statements.Financial Records: Maintain financial records according to industry best practices, policies, and regulations.Banking Coordination: Work with banking operations to ensure accurate financial reporting at all stages of the banking process.Cost Analysis and Control: Monitor expenditure, identify efficiency opportunities, and develop cost models to support pricing strategies and operational decisions.Internal Audits: Conduct audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.Financial Reporting and Risk Analysis: Prepare financial reports and risk analysis for senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.Financial Planning: Participate in financial planning and budgeting processes, providing key financial insights to support decision-making.Policy Development: Contribute to the development of financial accounting policies and procedures.Cross-functional Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams in forecasting, risk management, and controls.About YouAs the successful candidate you will possess:
