ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Mining Skills Australia (MSA) is seeking a full-time, detail-oriented Accountant to join our Brisbane-based team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting our company's operations by delivering accurate and efficient financial accounting and reporting services. This is an in-office position based in the Brisbane CBD.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger accounts, accounts payable and receivable, payroll and other financial transactions. Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, variance analysis, and reforecasts. Cash flow monitoring and forecasting. Perform financial analyses and provide insights to support management decision-making. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations and internal policies. Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial support and advice. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR CPA / CA qualifications or working towards with tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related field. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a financial accounting role, preferably within the mining or labour hire industries. Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills, with a sound understanding of Australian Accounting Standards. Proficient in using financial software and spreadsheet applications. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
